Brown neck warmer for women

This brown neck warmer is perfect for women, who love dark tones and feeling of comfort. It is short, has ruffled edges and the best way of wearing it is to wrap it close to the neck. This way it will make you warm and highlight your face and shoulders at the same time. To make your look even more appealing, I accessorize this ruffle scarfie with a beautiful turquoise flower. This lovely pin will help you to wrap the scarf as described and when the cold season ends, you will be able to wear it with summer clothing as well.

This lovely set – including felt collar and the brooch – is a pure handmade. I make it in nuno felting technique, which makes it a piece of fiber art. I use only natural and biodegradable materials like soft merino wool and silk fabric. For decoration, I also add a bit of silk fibers and a few glass beads. Silk fabric is a base of this nuno felted scarfie. It has many colors besides brown, such as yellow, turquoise and red. It gives the scarf a really nice texture and makes it very breathable. With this combination of materials you can use this short women scarf from autumn to spring without getting cold or overheat.

Scarf length: 67 cm (26.4 in)
Scarf width: 21 cm (8.3 in)
Brooch diameter: 12 cm (4.7 in)
Weight: 55 g (0.12 lb)

Washing Instructions

How to care about felted handicraft

Merino does not need to be washed as often as other types of wool. However, you may want to refresh it from time to time. Felted accessories and jewelry keep their colors and shape if hand washed gently in warm water. Here is a detailed instruction on how to care about them (we enclose it in every shipment as well):

  • Wash your felt handicraft manually at about 30 Celsjus degrees using washing agents for wool.
  • Dip them gently, but do not rub - otherwise they may shrink or deform.
  • After washing, rinse your felt item with water of the same temperature, preferably with a rinsing liquid for wool.
  • Do not wring or twist felt - remove the excess water with your hands using a towel.
  • Spread out washed accessories on a towel to let them dry.
  • If necessary iron your felt item using 'wool' mode or applying a low temperature.

Colorful linen fibres standing in line
Linen fibers

They are natural fibers collected from flax plants. Although they are thicker than silk fibers, they also look pretty cool on felted background.

Wool yarns on a mossy birch
Wool yarn

Wool yarn – if shaggy enough – can be interwoven with merino fibers. Since it fits in perfectly with felt, it is one of my most favourite decorations.

Our favourite watering can for wet felting
Watering can

In wet felting process you use some water to make wool fibers wet. With this watering can I am able to pour it quickly and efficiently.

These small knots of wool are ephemeral and beautiful like a snowflakes. They are a perfect for handmade felt replacing glitter or sequins applied for other fabrics.
