Felted Fairy Figurine – Sweet Pixie with Wings & Wand

Description

Description

This felted fairy figurine is a girls room decor or collectible doll for adults. It is intended to be used as a fantasy ornament. You can put it on a shelf, desk or table making your or your kids room more magical and beautiful. If you decide to invite her to your home, she will give a sweet touch to your interiors. It may be also a nice baby shower gift for expecting mothers.

I create this large pixie by hand in felting technique with great attention to details. She consists of soft merino wool and is decorated with natural silk fibers and glass beads. Her dress is stuffed, which makes the figure stable. Each of her props is permanently fixed, so you can be sure that she will never lose it.

This felted fairy figurine has large butterfly wings in pink color. Her dress is purple with a lovely pattern. She also has short curly blonde hair and holds a golden wand with a star in her hand. As she is a fairy, she carries a lot of fairy dust with her. That is actually what her bag is for. Some says that this magical powder would give the power of flight to whoever it was sprinkled on. This may be true, but even if it is not, it is enough to look at this pixie to feel lighthearted and carefree.

Washing Instructions

How to care about felted handicraft

Merino does not need to be washed as often as other types of wool. However, you may want to refresh it from time to time. Felted accessories and jewelry keep their colors and shape if hand washed gently in warm water. Here is a detailed instruction on how to care about them (we enclose it in every shipment as well):

  • Wash your felt handicraft manually at about 30 Celsjus degrees using washing agents for wool.
  • Dip them gently, but do not rub - otherwise they may shrink or deform.
  • After washing, rinse your felt item with water of the same temperature, preferably with a rinsing liquid for wool.
  • Do not wring or twist felt - remove the excess water with your hands using a towel.
  • Spread out washed accessories on a towel to let them dry.
  • If necessary iron your felt item using 'wool' mode or applying a low temperature.

Wool nepps

These small bits of wool are delicate and ephemeral like snowflakes. They are just perfect to use with handmade felt as a substitute for glitter and sequins which are applied to other fabrics.

Pieces of natural silk fabric make my scarves more lightweight and balanced. They also add a hint of uniqueness to some of my necklaces and brooches.

Bulb sprinkler

Thanks to its metal head with strainer, bulb sprinkler allows me to spray water onto my works in a controlled way, so that I do not flood my neighbours.

Wool yarn – if shaggy enough – can be interwoven with merino fibers. Since it fits in perfectly with felt, it is one of my most favourite decorations.
