Felted tube scarf with marble look
This felted tube scarf is a kind of neck warmer for women and girls. Thanks to natural and breathable materials, you can use it from autumn to spring. It is lined, so it consists of two layers. One of them is felted of dark merino wool and the other one is nuno felted of wool and silk fabric. The woolen layer makes the scarf warm, whereas the layer with silk gives it a marble look. It also gives a unique texture to this scarf, because silk becomes wrinkled during felting. With black and red tones and all these wrinkles the face of this scarf is just amazing.
After making two layers I cut them straight, put them together and sew one to the other. Then I join two ends of this snood scarf and give it a tubular shape. This way I get a marble neck warmer with merino wool lining. It runs close to the neck, fits all sizes and is a perfect protection against wind. Wearing it is pretty simple. You just put it through your head and look chic. No need to spend much time in front of a mirror.
This felted tube scarf is perfect for women who prefer popular designs over spectacular look typical for most of felted scarves. It will be a great choice for you to start your adventure with nunofelt. Also, if you already wear nuno felted accessories, it can be a great opportunity for you to extend your collection and make it more versatile. With this lovely cowl scarf, you can enjoy a boutique desing and artistic look at the same time.

How to care about felted handicraftMerino does not need to be washed as often as other types of wool. However, you may want to refresh it from time to time. Felted accessories and jewelry keep their colors and shape if hand washed gently in warm water. Here is a detailed instruction on how to care about them (we enclose it in every shipment as well):
- Wash your felt handicraft manually at about 30 Celsjus degrees using washing agents for wool.
- Dip them gently, but do not rub - otherwise they may shrink or deform.
- After washing, rinse your felt item with water of the same temperature, preferably with a rinsing liquid for wool.
- Do not wring or twist felt - remove the excess water with your hands using a towel.
- Spread out washed accessories on a towel to let them dry.
- If necessary iron your felt item using 'wool' mode or applying a low temperature.

Take a look behind the scenes
This technique is pretty similar to wet felting but items you create are more lightweight. You can make nuno felt using silk, linen or other fabric with open weave – just remember to make a mess!
Delicate wool fibers and our hands need to be protected with a soap made of natural olive oils. It makes our products longer lasting and skin-friendly.
Needle felting is the most laborious and the most precise way of making felt. It is perfect whenever you work on a detail and want to control wool down to the smallest fiber.
Wet felting is just rubbing wool fibers with your own hands. You had better go to the gym and exercise your muscles before you even start! Nothing can help more than strong arms.
