Green Felt Shawl with One of a Kind Texture & Patterned Silk

‹Return to Previous Page
Description

Description

This green felt shawl is a piece of wearable art. I made it by hand of fine merino wool and patterned silk fabric, decorating it with natural silk fibers and wool yarn. This gives it a lovely and one of a kind texture (there is only one piece of this scarf available for sale). To make this women accessory completly different from the others, I made numerous small square holes in it. I also made a few bigger ones and gave them kind of yarn net inside. You will not find another shawl like this anywhere. In addition to the unique design it has beautiful colors like olive green and pistachio. This is because I made it of hand dyed wool.

This green felt shawl is fresh and feminine, very soft and comfortable. Natural materials and designer holes make it also breathable and lightweight. You can wear it during early spring, fall and winter. It will be perfect for the woman who expects something more than a shawl.

Washing Instructions

How to care about felted handicraft

Merino does not need to be washed as often as other types of wool. However, you may want to refresh it from time to time. Felted accessories and jewelry keep their colors and shape if hand washed gently in warm water. Here is a detailed instruction on how to care about them (we enclose it in every shipment as well):

  • Wash your felt handicraft manually at about 30 Celsjus degrees using washing agents for wool.
  • Dip them gently, but do not rub - otherwise they may shrink or deform.
  • After washing, rinse your felt item with water of the same temperature, preferably with a rinsing liquid for wool.
  • Do not wring or twist felt - remove the excess water with your hands using a towel.
  • Spread out washed accessories on a towel to let them dry.
  • If necessary iron your felt item using 'wool' mode or applying a low temperature.

Take a deep breath before you take one of them into your hand. With tiny barbs on their edges felting needles are smart and dangerous tools for tangling fibers in the most laborious way possible.
