Lined snood scarf made of luxury materials

This lined snood scarf is a kind of women neck warmer to use from autumn to spring. I make it by hand in nuno felting technique. It consists of two layers that are sewn together. One of them is felted of brown merino wool and the other one is nuno felted of wool and silk fabric in many fall shades. The woolen layer makes the scarf very cozy and friendly to the skin. The layer with silk gives it a beautiful texture – as the wool shrinks during felting, silk becomes wonderfully wrinkled and looks just amazing.

After making two layers I cut them straight, put them together and sew one to the other. Then I join two ends of this natural neck warmer and give it a tubular shape. This way I get a cowl scarf that runs close to the neck and fits all sizes. Wearing it is pretty simple. You just put it through your head and you are ready to go out – there is no need to spend long minutes in front of a mirror. Wool and silk make this luxury snood warm and breathable. Thanks to them, it will give you a nice protection against wind and prevent overheating.

This lined snood scarf is perfect for women who prefer popular designs over spectacular look typical for most of felted scarves. It will be a great choice for you to start your adventure with nunofelt. Also, if you already wear nuno felted accessories, it can be a great opportunity for you to extend your collection and make it more versatile. With this textured tube scarf, you can enjoy a boutique desing and artistic look at the same time.

Washing Instructions

How to care about felted handicraft

Merino does not need to be washed as often as other types of wool. However, you may want to refresh it from time to time. Felted accessories and jewelry keep their colors and shape if hand washed gently in warm water. Here is a detailed instruction on how to care about them (we enclose it in every shipment as well):

  • Wash your felt handicraft manually at about 30 Celsjus degrees using washing agents for wool.
  • Dip them gently, but do not rub - otherwise they may shrink or deform.
  • After washing, rinse your felt item with water of the same temperature, preferably with a rinsing liquid for wool.
  • Do not wring or twist felt - remove the excess water with your hands using a towel.
  • Spread out washed accessories on a towel to let them dry.
  • If necessary iron your felt item using 'wool' mode or applying a low temperature.
