This nuno felt poppy shawl will be loved by women, who appreciate elegant and chic accessories. I made it by hand in nuno felting technique using superfine Australian merino wool, crinkle silk chiffon and mulberry silk fibers. Along the shawl is meandering a floral pattern with red poppies. This nuno felted shawl is really large. In the same time it is comfortable and good for many outdoor activities, like walks with friends or indoor parties and events. You can wear it during every season depending on the weather. It will look great both with coat and elegant evening dress and is big enought to use it instead of sweater. With its classic colors you will be able to wear it in many situations. And each time this nuno felt poppy shawl will make you look stylish and chic.

How to care about felted handicraftMerino does not need to be washed as often as other types of wool. However, you may want to refresh it from time to time. Felted accessories and jewelry keep their colors and shape if hand washed gently in warm water. Here is a detailed instruction on how to care about them (I enclose it in every shipment as well):
- Wash your felt handicraft manually at about 30 Celsjus degrees using washing agents for wool.
- Dip them gently, but do not rub - otherwise they may shrink or deform.
- After washing, rinse your felt item with water of the same temperature, preferably with a rinsing liquid for wool.
- Do not wring or twist felt - remove the excess water with your hands using a towel.
- Spread out washed accessories on a towel to let them dry.
- If necessary iron your felt item using 'wool' mode or applying a low temperature.

Take a look behind the scenes
Wool yarn – if shaggy enough – can be interweaved with merino fibers. Since it fits in perfectly with felt, it is one of our most favourite decorations.
They are bast fibers collected from the phloem or inner-bark of flax plants. Although linen fibers are thicker than silk ones, they look amazing on felted background.
Wet felting needs a lot of water to make all the wool wet. With this watering can we can pour all around very quickly and efficiently.
Take a deep breath before you take it in your hand. With its hooked barbs felting needle is a smart and dangerous tool for tangling fibers in the most laborious possible way.
