Pink Felt Bag in Medium Size with an Abstract Image

Description

Description

This pink felt bag is really unique because of an abstract image felted on its front side. The bag itself is made of hand dyed merino wool in pink and gray and the picture is made of natural silk fibers, wool yarn, silver thread, wool nepps and scraps of silk fabric. All these materials form dark, surreal tree and storm clouds on the pink background. It makes the bag really beautiful and worth buying.

This pink felt bag is medium sized and it has a long strap, lining and a zipper. It is created by hand in wet felting technique and there is only one piece for one lucky person. The bag has no seams, since it was hand felted around the template. It is lined with a cotton fabric in blue tones with one pocket. The lining was sewn into by hand to hide the stitching. The strap of this shoulder bag is a strong felt rope. As you can see, there are no weak points – just a pure joy of having an art. If you love pink and gray tones and need a medium bag now, this feltie with its beautiful pattern is designed for you!

Washing Instructions

How to care about felted handicraft

Merino does not need to be washed as often as other types of wool. However, you may want to refresh it from time to time. Felted accessories and jewelry keep their colors and shape if hand washed gently in warm water. Here is a detailed instruction on how to care about them (we enclose it in every shipment as well):

  • Wash your felt handicraft manually at about 30 Celsjus degrees using washing agents for wool.
  • Dip them gently, but do not rub - otherwise they may shrink or deform.
  • After washing, rinse your felt item with water of the same temperature, preferably with a rinsing liquid for wool.
  • Do not wring or twist felt - remove the excess water with your hands using a towel.
  • Spread out washed accessories on a towel to let them dry.
  • If necessary iron your felt item using 'wool' mode or applying a low temperature.

Wool nepps for felting
Wool nepps

These small bits of wool are delicate and ephemeral like snowflakes. They are just perfect to use with handmade felt as a substitute for glitter and sequins which are applied to other fabrics.

This technique is pretty similar to wet felting but items you create are more lightweight. You can make nuno felt using silk, linen or other fabric with open weave – just remember to make a mess!

Take a deep breath before you take one of them into your hand. With tiny barbs on their edges felting needles are smart and dangerous tools for tangling fibers in the most laborious way possible.

Delicate wool fibers, just as my hands, need to be protected with a soap made of natural olive oils. This soap makes my products longer lasting and skin-friendly.
