Felted pumpkin box
This pumpkin box is a nice fall decoration and everyday jewelry storage. You can use it as a jewelry box throughout the year and turn it into favor box or treat box for Thanksgiving and Halloween. It will look great as a candy box on your table and will make every party a bit more cheerful. I make this box by hand in felting technique. It has a shape and design of an orange bowl with cover. It consists of superfine merino wool, so it is fully natural and eco-friendly.
I make this felted box in three sizes (small, medium and large), so you can choose the one that fits you best. The smallest container is designed to store your rings and earings, whereas the biggest box will accommodate your necklaces, pendants and bracelets. In the pictures you can see all three sizes compared with my hand and with a pair of felted earrings.
As a jewellery storage, this pumpkin box is a nice gift for every woman or girl who loves handmade, especially if her trinkets are out of control. On the other hand, with its bright color, pumpkin shape and cute sprout, this box is a very nice autumn decor. Let it brighten up this time of the year for you!

How to care about felted handicraftMerino does not need to be washed as often as other types of wool. However, you may want to refresh it from time to time. Felted accessories and jewelry keep their colors and shape if hand washed gently in warm water. Here is a detailed instruction on how to care about them (we enclose it in every shipment as well):
- Wash your felt handicraft manually at about 30 Celsjus degrees using washing agents for wool.
- Dip them gently, but do not rub - otherwise they may shrink or deform.
- After washing, rinse your felt item with water of the same temperature, preferably with a rinsing liquid for wool.
- Do not wring or twist felt - remove the excess water with your hands using a towel.
- Spread out washed accessories on a towel to let them dry.
- If necessary iron your felt item using 'wool' mode or applying a low temperature.

Take a look behind the scenes
Wool yarn – if shaggy enough – can be interweaved with merino fibers. Since it fits in perfectly with felt, it is one of our most favourite decorations.
They are bast fibers collected from the phloem or inner-bark of flax plants. Although linen fibers are thicker than silk ones, they look amazing on felted background.
Wet felting is just rubbing wool tops with your own hands. You better go to the gym and exercise your muscles before you start! Nothing can replace the strong arms.
These small knots of wool are ephemeral and beautiful like a snowflakes. They are a perfect for handmade felt replacing glitter or sequins applied for other fabrics.
