Description

Red flower necklace

This red flower necklace is a piece of fiber art. I make it by hand in felting technique. It consists of soft merino wool and natural silk fibers, which makes it nice in touch and eco-friendly. This statement necklace has a unique shape that makes it similar to a real plant. It looks like a long rope or stalk in emerald green with three felt flowers on its end. Flowers are vivid red and just lovely. They make this neckpiece beautiful and versatile. I finished the other end of the necklace with two felted leaves and designer dreadlocks.

You can wear this open necklace in many ways, moving flowers and leaves up and down. Just tie it around your neck and adjust its length to your needs. Every time it will look cute and give you a lot of charm. As this red flower necklace is very eye-catching, it will also make you stand out from women around. Then, be prepared for compliments and wonderful well-being!

Necklace length: 155 cm (61 in)
Flowers’ diameter: 14 cm (5.5 in)
Necklace weight: 80 g (0.18 lb)

Washing Instructions

How to care about felted handicraft

Merino does not need to be washed as often as other types of wool. However, you may want to refresh it from time to time. Felted accessories and jewelry keep their colors and shape if hand washed gently in warm water. Here is a detailed instruction on how to care about them (we enclose it in every shipment as well):

  • Wash your felt handicraft manually at about 30 Celsjus degrees using washing agents for wool.
  • Dip them gently, but do not rub - otherwise they may shrink or deform.
  • After washing, rinse your felt item with water of the same temperature, preferably with a rinsing liquid for wool.
  • Do not wring or twist felt - remove the excess water with your hands using a towel.
  • Spread out washed accessories on a towel to let them dry.
  • If necessary iron your felt item using 'wool' mode or applying a low temperature.

These small bits of wool are delicate and ephemeral like snowflakes. They are just perfect to use with handmade felt as a substitute for glitter and sequins which are applied to other fabrics.

This technique is pretty similar to wet felting but items you create are more lightweight. You can make nuno felt using silk, linen or other fabric with open weave – just remember to make a mess!

Take a deep breath before you take one of them into your hand. With tiny barbs on their edges felting needles are smart and dangerous tools for tangling fibers in the most laborious way possible.

They are natural fibers collected from flax plants. Although they are thicker than silk fibers, they also look pretty cool on felted background.
