Description

Red wool neck warmer with black rose brooch

This red wool neck warmer is really chic and will be a beautiful gift for her. It is perfect for women who love red color and comfortable natural accessories. I make it of soft merino wool and natural silk fabric. It is nuno felted, which means that I combine these two materials using my own hands. With this individual approach, each piece is unique and has its own soul.

This red wool neck warmer is cozy, breathable and can be hand washed or dry cleaned. It will not lose its color over time and will stay with its owner for long. Bright red color and ruffle design make this felt collar very stylish and I am sure it will strengthen courage and self-confidence of every woman. As it is kind of a wrap scarf, I sell it as a set with a nice black rose brooch. This fashionable flower will make it easy to fasten this scarf and can be also used with other parts of clothing.

Scarf length: 67 cm (26.4 in)
Scarf width: 22 cm (8.7 in)
Flower diameter: 11 cm (4.3 in)
Weight: 60 g (0.13 lb)

Washing Instructions

How to care about felted handicraft

Merino does not need to be washed as often as other types of wool. However, you may want to refresh it from time to time. Felted accessories and jewelry keep their colors and shape if hand washed gently in warm water. Here is a detailed instruction on how to care about them (we enclose it in every shipment as well):

  • Wash your felt handicraft manually at about 30 Celsjus degrees using washing agents for wool.
  • Dip them gently, but do not rub - otherwise they may shrink or deform.
  • After washing, rinse your felt item with water of the same temperature, preferably with a rinsing liquid for wool.
  • Do not wring or twist felt - remove the excess water with your hands using a towel.
  • Spread out washed accessories on a towel to let them dry.
  • If necessary iron your felt item using 'wool' mode or applying a low temperature.

Superfine merino wool is just perfect for fashion applications. With its delicacy, excellent thermal properties, strong fibers and antiallergic effect it is invaluable.

Wool yarn – if shaggy enough – can be interwoven with merino fibers. Since it fits in perfectly with felt, it is one of my most favourite decorations.

Nuno felting

This technique is pretty similar to wet felting but items you create are more lightweight. You can make nuno felt using silk, linen or other fabric with open weave – just remember to make a mess!

Needle felting

Needle felting is the most laborious and the most precise way of making felt. It is used whenever one works on a detail and wants to control the wool down to the smallest fiber.
