Viking Figurine with Fearsome Helmet, Long Sword and Shield

‹Return to Previous Page

Viking figurine

This Viking figurine is a superb Norse home decor to put on a shelf or desk. I created it especially for men and older boys, but it will please women’s eyes as well. This standing statue is a perfect find for enthusiasts of Viking Age, fans of Vikings series and all those who collect various dolls. Due to its warlike appearance, it will be also a great gift for all veterans and soldiers.

I make this figurine with great attention to detail. It is hand felted and consists of soft merino wool – I only add small pieces of cotton thread and linen twine for decoration. The figure is stable, because I stuff its base. I also attach every piece of clothing, armor and weapon of this Norse warrior. Thus, he will not lose them even during heavy battle.

As you can see in the pictures, this Viking swordsman has an impressive mustache and rust beard with two braids. A gray jagged cape covers his arms and a fearsome helmet with two horns protects his head (I make this headpiece in needle felting technique). Moreover, this Nordic warrior has a copper belt with a very long sword. This sword is a deadly weapon against all his enemies. In his left hand he holds a large shield although he feels no fear.

According to legends, this Viking has just one dream: to die on a battlefield and sit at the same table with Odin in Valhalla. If you invite him to your home, he will not only give it a Norse vibe, but also bring with him the spirits of toughest Viking heroes, like Ragnar, Ivar, Erik and Bjorn. They will all protect you and your home to the last drop of blood.

Care Instructions

How to care about this figurine

Due to its antistatic properties wool does not absorb dirt and dust easily. Therefore it does not have to be cleaned as often as other materials. However, if your figurine gets dirty, you can remove dust and debris with a lint roller or vacuum cleaner. If it needs to be refreshed, wipe it gently with a damp cloth or sponge.

Wool nepps for felting
Wool nepps

These small bits of wool are delicate and ephemeral like snowflakes. They are just perfect to use with handmade felt as a substitute for glitter and sequins which are applied to other fabrics.

Nuno felting

This technique is pretty similar to wet felting but items you create are more lightweight. You can make nuno felt using silk, linen or other fabric with open weave – just remember to make a mess!

Wet felting

Wet felting is just rubbing wool fibers with your own hands. You had better go to the gym and exercise your muscles before you even start! Nothing can help more than strong arms.

Watering can

In wet felting process you use some water to make wool fibers wet. With this watering can I am able to pour it quickly and efficiently.
